LONG-BILLED CORELLA
Cacatua tenuirostris
DISTRIBUTION: Southern Australia
HABITAT: Grassy woodland, grassland, urban parks
STATUS: Not Threatened
DESCRIPTION:
Corellas are members of the Cockatoo family and have the trademark crest, although it is not as pronounced as other cockatoos. The crest is still raised when the bird is excited or agitated however.
They feed of fruit, plant matter and in particular grass and crop seed, leading some to consider them rather a pest.
