Special Events For 2008 

Thursday 17th March to Sunday 13th April - Spring is in the Air 

This Easter, we’ve got a bumper crop of baby animals for you to see. There are baby otters, baby bats, a baby polecat, baby wallabies – all things cute and cuddly galore!

You’ll be able to see our live animal encounters that run throughout the day, and you can be really nosy, checking out our new hidden cameras and screens that keep a beady eye on the lemurs, kookaburras, ravens and little owls.

Join in the fun and games from Good Friday to Easter Monday, with PRIZES to be won. There’ll be great Easter activities for all the family, including our annual Easter Egg Races, where we pitch our zoo keepers against our visitors in a match of speed, strength and eggs!

Throughout the holiday season, we’re running an Easter Trail, so come along and have a go.

Saturday 24th May to Sunday 1st June - Spring into Summer

We've got lots of expectant animal mothers at Tropical Wings, and it's the season to catch our baby meerkats, otters, polecats and wallabies as they take their first steps into the summer season.

 

 

Saturday 31st May - Pirates and Parrots

Who's your favourite pirate - Long John Silver or Jack Sparrow?  Whatever floats your pirate ship, come along dressed up in your pirate gear, and join in our treasure trail.  Bring your friends! There are enough parrots here to keep any pirate worth their salt very happy. 

 

 

Sunday 15th June - Father's Day 

Bring your dad along to celebrate Father's Day! We've got plenty of new dads here this year, including Khan the otter - we're very proud of him! We've got a family quiz for you to have a go at, then you can treat dad to something delicious in the Butterfly Tearoom to make his day really special! 

 

Wednesday 23rd July to Sunday 31st August - Summer Madness

Tropical Wings is a great friend to visit during the summer hols - every day will be filled with extra animal encounters, shows and presentations.  Why not bring a picnic and enjoy a full day of sunny entertainment?

 

 

Sunday 31st August - Bird of Prey and Wild Wings Day

A great way to round off the summer holiday season - well worth a visit to see our magnificent birds plus special guests. Meet the falconry experts and enjoy the displays and shows (including birds of prey, owls, kookaburras, vultures, ravens, and a variety of parrots). Plus many other fantastic exhibits including Paradise Corner, the Bird Gardens and free-flying sunbirds in the Tropical House.

 

Saturday 4th October - World Animal Day

Celebrate animal life here at Tropical Wings in support of World Animal Day. We're putting on extra animal encounters to help highlight conservation issues and encourage good pet care.  For more information on World Animal Day and what it's about, visit www.worldanimalday.org.uk.

 

Saturday 8th November - Passion for Pets

Welcoming back this event to celebrate the nation's love of pets, featuring extra chances to meet some of our favourite furry friends and the opportunity to learn more about pet care.
