Can I use my camera in the Tropical House?
Yes! You’re welcome to use cameras, videos and other photographic equipment (including tripods) here. You may find that your lens mists up to begin with, but this soon goes and shouldn’t cause any lasting damage.
When are you open and how much does it cost?
How long will I need to visit?
Tropical Wings Zoo is situated within 9 acres and we have a full daily programme of events to keep you entertained, so to get full value for money many of our visitors stay all day! However if you’re looking for a shorter visit you should allow at least 2 hours.
Is Tropical Wings Zoo wheelchair friendly?
We operate a ‘welcome all’ policy [see Disabled Access] and the park is fully accessible for wheelchairs. You may find the little wooden bridge over the pond in the Tropical House is not suitable. However, we offer a short alternative route, without the need to miss anything. We also have Accessible Toilet facilities and allocated parking spaces close to the main entrance for Blue Badge holders.
Are dogs allowed?
Sorry, we operate a ‘No dogs except guide dogs’ policy. Please do not bring your dog with you – see the RSPCA poster – dogs die in hot cars Please be kind and leave them at home.

You are welcome to bring packed lunches with you on your visit, we provide a number of undercover picnic areas throughout the Zoo. Please note this does not include the indoor soft play area or Macawbers Cafe.
Is it worth coming on a rainy day?
Definitely! We are an all weather attraction. The many undercover areas include the Tropical House, Discovery Kingdom, Rainforest Corner, Lifecycles, Activity Room, Wild Amazon, covered picnic areas. In bad weather we can use these areas for additional Animal Encounters or impromptu presentations, ensuring you keep as dry as possible on a rainy day!
Do you host Birthday Parties?

Is it just for kids?
No! Tropical Wings Zoo has something for everyone, no matter what your age or interest!
Isn’t it all just butterflies and birds?
